WINTER

Beautiful snow scenery, snuggling up to your favorite holiday movie with a warm hot cacao, and extreme sledding with your best friends! Winter gives you all the feels. however, it gives your skin a different feel that is not warm and fuzzy.

Like summer, wintertime creates many changes in your skin and for you this means that you will need to alter some of your products and adjust your routine to balance those skin manifestations of winter. The crisp dry air and wind that is experienced during winter months for people in certain demographics, will cause excessive dryness of the skin and flakiness. This excessive dryness may also irritate, cause redness, itching, breakouts, and discomfort.

A good way to keep your skin nourished and hydrated is to use oil rich & creamy moisturizers. You can also use oils directly on your skin to enhance the lubrication of the skin during winter. A great oil you can use is The Ordinary squalane oil. This oil mimics the skin's natural oils and improves texture overnight. Because we can lose moisture due to the wind and cool air, wearing an occlusive balm over your moisturizer will keep the water in your skin rather than escaping

through the air. These can be petroleum occlusive balms similar to a Vaseline-like consistency. CeraVe has a wonderful barrier balm called Healing Ointment, especially good for those with rosacea and sensitive skin.

Unlike summertime, when it's winter we want to keep the skin lathered and nourished with a creamy cleanser. You can reduce the frequency of cleansing to once a day if your skin is easily irritated. Also, because your skin is going to lack oil production naturally, you will not need to exfoliate often nor use AHA/BHA exfoliator often to reduce irritation, itching, and redness of the skin. Exfoliating only once per month is ideal. SPF is also recommended, all times of the year for those who live in cold, windy cities.

The skin on the body is also important. The body's skin can be prone to over-drying during the wintertime. TUEL triple splash hydrating spray will be beneficial to quench the body, followed by the TUEL botanical blast to rehydrate and lastly a thick, rich and creamy oil rich cream to lock all that moisture inside. Here is a winter skin list summary.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
